Defined by superior craftsmanship and innovative design, the new Masterpiece Santoku is more than just a great piece of cutlery — it is a work of art.
True cutlery enthusiasts might notice an unusual look about this knife — high-carbon German steel with a hammered finish. Using an original process, the cutlery experts at LifeLong Gifts developed a way to marry the two. From start to finish, this versatile Santoku requires more than 100 steps by a master craftsman to complete.
Boasting a beautiful, water-resistant rosewood handle and an unmistakable razor-sharp edge, nothing blends old-world style and modern convenience more seamlessly than this remarkable knife.
How do we achieve the hammered finish?
The blade is heated just enough to soften the steel, which creates a surface acceptable for hammering. The knife is then hand-polished. With extra attention given to each of the pockets created by the hammer, a high-luster, mirror finish can be seen over the entire blade.
